1. Who we are

Zequo is an educational app for iOS and Android developed by Seize I/O Ones (“we”, “the data controller”). It is designed for children aged about 6–10 and their parents.

3. Offline use and local storage

Zequo is built to run fully offline. Game data (progress, stats, profile) is stored only on the device using a local database (ObjectBox). No such data is sent to our servers during normal play.

Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

4. Analytics — Firebase (parent consent only)

By default, Firebase Analytics is disabled. A parent may enable anonymous usage statistics in Settings → Parent area → help us improve Zequo (after passing the math Parent Gate).

If consent is on, we may collect:

• Anonymous usage events (level started, answer submitted, level completed)
• Anonymous technical data (OS version, aggregated device model)

Production crashes may still be sent via Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry regardless of this consent, using technical data only and without identifying the child (see also §9).

We never collect, even with consent:

• Advertising ID (IDFA / GAID) — disabled in configuration
• Remarketing audiences
• Sensitive biometric or behavioural profiling

Analytics is processed by Google LLC (Firebase). Google policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Retention is set to 2 months where available.

Consent can be turned off anytime in Settings; it takes effect immediately.

5. In-app purchases — RevenueCat

The optional “Unlock all worlds” purchase is handled by RevenueCat Inc. and the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google).

No payment card data passes through our app: Apple/Google process payments. RevenueCat receives only limited, aggregated transaction data (product ID, purchase state) to unlock content.

The purchase screen is behind the Parent Gate so only an adult should complete a purchase.

6. COPPA (US)

Zequo is designed with COPPA and similar child-privacy principles in mind (including GDPR-related rules for children in the EU/UK).

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 as described in this policy
• No account or personal signup is required
• The in-game name stays on the device and is not transmitted
• Turning on analytics requires the Parent Gate
• No third-party ads
• External links (e.g. this policy) are intended to be opened by a parent
• We do not sell children’s personal information

7. GDPR — rights (EU / UK)

Because we minimise personal data, many rights can be exercised on the device (uninstall the app or clear app data in system settings).

For data processed through Firebase Analytics (with consent) and for requests about technical crash/error data (Google Crashlytics, Sentry), you can contact us:

• Access — know what was collected
• Erasure — request deletion where applicable
• Object / restrict — e.g. turn off analytics in-app
• Portability — where technically possible

8. Security

Local data is protected by the OS (sandboxing, disk encryption). We do not use our own cloud storage for game saves. Data sent to Firebase and Sentry uses TLS in transit.
